VIPER has made it easier to manage the incidents Bomberos de Chillán responds to, giving us real-time information on resources such as location, unit crews and stations, which supports decision-making. It has also let us produce clear, easy-to-access statistics for data analysis.

Everything used to run on printouts and paper. We had to enter the emergency details on a computer and then print them to dispatch a unit. With VIPER it's done right when the call comes in, so the unit is dispatched instantly.

Every time an alarm is handled, each firefighter gets a notification on their phone with the location and description of the emergency; if it's a fire, it shows the nearby hydrants, which has made the job much easier.

Dispatch used to wait for the assigned company to confirm it had enough crew; if not, a new dispatch had to be issued and we waited again. With VIPER that information is live: the dispatch center knows exactly how many firefighters each company has, and a company without crew isn't dispatched, even if it's the closest.
